In Soviet-era Estonia, UKU was a well-known state-run handicrafts and applied arts organization. It specialized in producing and promoting traditional Estonian folk crafts such as textiles, embroidery, leatherwork, ceramics, jewelry, and decorative household items. UKU workshops and shops employed many artisans and sold locally made products throughout Estonia and the wider Soviet Union. Although it operated within the Soviet system, UKU also helped preserve Estonian cultural identity by maintaining traditional craft techniques, folk patterns, and national design traditions during the occupation period. I invite you to CRAFT TOUR with us in ESTONIA this summer!
I am happy to introduce you the long list of crafting tours we are offering in 2026 and I am cordially inviting you to Estonia. You will find all our favorite tours here - Seto Tour, Haapsalu Lace Knitting and Island Hopping, but also few new ones.
Hopefully you will find something you like and join us next year for some crafting fun.
I really appreciate if you could also share the info with your friends and crafting community. Thank you!
