Antsla and Urvaste are a must-visit for families with children, as they offer a variety of attractions including the children's nature playground in Karula National Park, the Pokumaa hiking and learning trails for children, and the enticing traffic town in New Antsla. The area was once home to many manors, and the Vana-Antsla manor complex helps recall its ancient wealth and grandeur.
10 km north of Antsla in Urvaste grows the mighty, very old, and dignified Tamme-Lauri oak. For centuries, Urvaste Church, the oldest basilica church among Estonian county churches, has stood on the high bank of Uhtjärve. At the other end of the elongated Uhtjärve, one finds a modern and unique tourist attraction - the Uhtjärve Witch Kingdom.
Ancient heritage landscapes and unique hillocks are protected by Karula National Park. The Karula landscape is rich in lakes, with 60 in the highlands. The picturesque Kaika hillocks and the highest peak, Rebasemõisa Tornimägi, are also located within Karula National Park.
